3 Ways to Balance Hormones Naturally

3 Ways to Balance Hormones Naturally

Hormones are EVERYTHING. They are responsible for how good we feel, sleep, treat others, and show up in this world. Many of us are suffering from one form of hormonal imbalance or another that is affecting the quality of our life.  Below are three ways that you can START to balance your hormones naturally, so you can have more energy, balanced moods, and actually feel like you’re in control of your body versus being at war with it.

  1. Eliminate soy. Soy is known as a phytoestrogen – a plant source of the hormone estrogen that mimics your body’s natural estrogen. Eating too much soy can cause your body to have too much or too little estrogen. Excess estrogen can lead you to become estrogen dominant and experience symptoms such as PMS, hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain, and conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, hypothyroidism, and depression.

  1. Supplement with evening primrose oil.  Always check with your doctor first, but once they give you the green light, adding in evening primrose oil can do wonders for PMS symptoms such as breast pain, mood swings, and fatigue. Women all around the world take EPO because of its omega-6 fatty acids, including LA and GLA, that have been shown to support overall hormonal function.

  1. Heal the gut. According to a study done in the Indian Journal of Medical Research, “Leaky gut is a condition that not only affects your digestive tract, but also causes hormone issues. Gut problems have been found to trigger autoimmune reactions, including arthritis and thyroid disorders”. Leaky gut affects the regulation of key hormones such as thyroid, insulin, ghrelin, and leptin. Heal the gut, balance the hormones.
